21 Years of
Building What Works

Two founders, one insurance client, and twenty-one years of shipping. Here's how it actually happened.

// Where it started

Two people. One client. Zero excuses.

In 2005, Ad Rietberg and Jacek Salek started Yameo with a single bespoke project for a Dutch insurance company. Between them they covered development, project management and account management. No team, no overhead. Just delivery.

Co-founder
Ad Rietberg
Based in the Netherlands, with three decades in software and IT consultancy. Ad brought the clients and the commercial instinct, starting with the Dutch insurance market.
Co-founder
Jacek Salek
From Gdańsk, Poland. Jacek led the technical work from day one and made his home city Yameo's development hub. It still is.
A Dutch head, a Polish backbone. HQ in the Netherlands, engineering in Gdańsk. That split has been part of how Yameo works ever since.

Today
// Where it continued

Built from the inside. Run from the inside.

In 2019 the two people running Yameo's technology and operations bought the company from its founders. A management buyout by people who had spent years inside the delivery work before they owned any of it.

Owner · CEO
Maciej Krajewski
Came in as technical director after eight years building a telecom startup from devops up. Moved Yameo from waterfall to agile, cut the distance between engineers and clients, and took over as CEO in 2019. Drives strategy and, since 2024, the AI-native shift.
Owner · COO
Jakub Czechowski
Came in as a project manager and built the operations that let a small company deliver for AON, DEKRA and national institutions: delivery process, quality gates, team structure. As COO he runs how the work gets done, day to day, in Utrecht and Gdańsk.
Same DNA, new hands. Ad and Jacek built a company that delivered before it scaled. Maciej and Jakub kept that order. The buyout changed who signs, not what Yameo is.
