Yameo at Money 20/20 in Amsterdam: A Fintech Development Partner for Banks

18 Jun 2024 posted by Nick van Xanten

From 4-6 June Yameo attended Money 20/20 in Amsterdam, the world’s leading fintech and financial service event. As a software house specialising in fintech development, we were excited to participate as a development partner for banks and other financial service providers. The event brought together industry leaders, innovators, and visionaries to explore the future of money, technology, and payments. Here is a recap of our insightful and inspiring time at Money 20/20.

The Event: A Hub of Fintech Development & Innovation

Money 20/20 is renowned for being an exciting event full of the brightest minds in fintech, banking, payments, and financial services. This year, we attended the event, and it did not disappoint, offering an array of keynotes, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Over 8,000 attendees from more than 2,300 companies and 80 countries gathered to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the fintech world.

As a fintech development partner for banks, we were strategically positioned to engage with top-tier financial institutions and display our capabilities in developing innovative, secure, and scalable solutions. Our presence highlighted our commitment to driving the digital transformation of the banking industry.

Key Highlights & Takeaways from 3 days at Money 20/20

  • Engaging with Industry Leaders: We had the privilege of meeting and interacting with industry leaders, decision-makers, and potential clients. These interactions provided us with valuable insights into the current needs and future directions of the banking and fintech sectors. Whilst we often communicate with our clients via digital channels (video, email), it was great to meet decision makers in person who are tasked with combining technology with aspects such as retail, service, and operations. One common feedback we heard was the need to expand mobile banking to include remote branching. Especially in situations where banks need to close locations, but keep service accessibility in place for their customer base. Basically, ‘video branching’ was the new ‘in person’ experience.

  • Showcasing Our Expertise: At our booth, we shared our fintech capabilities and services, including our Video in Person solution, a secure and scalable solution for b2c use cases. We also met numerous banks during the 3-day event who showed genuine interest in such a market-proven solution. Especially the options of mobile, web and kiosk terminal video banking on one platform garnered interest.

  • Panel Discussions and Keynotes: Attending various panel discussions and keynote sessions allowed us to gain deeper knowledge about emerging trends such as decentralized finance (DeFi), open banking, and the integration of AI in financial services. These insights will undoubtedly influence our future projects and strategies, as well as which topics will be of interest for discussions with our current financial service customers.

  • Networking Opportunities: The networking events were a highlight, providing an informal setting to build relationships with other fintech professionals and explore potential partnerships. We connected with several banks and financial institutions interested in leveraging our expertise to drive their digital transformation initiatives, most notable our Video In Person solution. A big thank you to the Banking 50 and Fintech Netherlands for facilitating this.

  • Learning and Innovation: The innovation exhibited at Money 20/20 was truly inspiring. From innovative payment solutions to revolutionary blockchain applications, the event reinforced the importance of staying at the forefront of technology. Yameo is more committed than ever to incorporating the latest advancements into our development processes to deliver state-of-the-art solutions to our clients.
